What PRP facial treatment actually does
PRP concentrates platelets from a small blood sample and reintroduces them into the skin, most often alongside microneedling so the concentrate reaches the layers where remodeling happens. We use the same EmCyte PurePRP SupraPhysiologic system used for hair, which produces a supraphysiologic platelet concentration with high purity, and the formulation is adjusted per patient, including a neutrophil-poor preparation for facial work.
The growth factors carried by platelets may support the skin's natural collagen-building response. PRP with microneedling is commonly used for texture, fine lines, and overall skin quality. Results develop gradually and vary from patient to patient.
The part of skin aging most providers skip
Estrogen decline, thyroid function, chronic stress, and metabolic changes all influence collagen production and skin quality. That inside-out framework is already behind our Collagen Rebuild Protocol and the hormonal skin articles in this journal, and it applies just as directly to how skin responds to a regenerative treatment.
This does not mean every PRP skin patient needs a hormone work-up. It means the question gets asked as part of a physician-led evaluation, so a plan is not built on top of something that was never examined.
What a PRP skin plan at PBCM looks like
Dr. Frisch designs and reviews the Regenerative Glow Protocol. Formulation, treatment depth, and spacing are set by protocol and reviewed as the skin responds, and treatment is delivered by the credentialed clinical team.
PRP may fit into a broader plan alongside ZO Skin Health, laser treatment, or hormonal support when relevant. Details on how PRP is used for both hair and skin are on our PRP Hair & Skin Restoration page, and the reasoning behind our protocol-first approach is covered on the Root Cause Hair Restoration Protocol page.
Is a PRP facial a fit?
PRP with microneedling tends to suit patients looking to improve texture, tone, and early collagen loss. It is one option among several rather than a universal fix, and deeper structural changes are usually a different conversation.
A consultation is the most reliable way to find out what fits. Candidacy is determined at that visit, and individual results vary.
Preguntas Frecuentes
- What does PRP actually do for skin?
- PRP concentrates the platelets from a small sample of your own blood and reintroduces them into the skin, usually with microneedling. The growth factors platelets carry may support the skin's natural repair and collagen-building response, which is why it is commonly used for texture, fine lines, and overall skin quality.
- Can hormones really affect how skin ages?
- They can contribute. Estrogen decline, thyroid function, chronic stress, and metabolic changes all influence collagen production and skin quality, which is why those factors are considered as part of a physician-led evaluation when appropriate.
- Can PRP be combined with microneedling?
- Yes. PRP is most often paired with microneedling in the Regenerative Glow Protocol to support the skin's natural repair process and the appearance of skin quality, texture, and glow.
- How many PRP facial sessions are typically needed?
- PRP for skin is usually performed as a series, followed by maintenance when appropriate. The number of sessions depends on your goals, your baseline skin condition, and how your skin responds, and it is discussed at consultation.
- Does PBCM publish PRP facial pricing?
- No. Plans are personalized, so pricing is discussed at consultation rather than posted. Flexible monthly Care Plans are available and can be reviewed at that visit.
